Been back since the 18th..
I knew I was back as soon as I stepped out of the plane into the warm air of the early evening in Long Beach Airport. My boots felt a tad too warm, jacket a bit too heavy. And when I slept, I slept straight into a beautiful 87 degree sunny Southern California day. I squinted looking up to the blue skies, the sun made me a little dizzy .. I couldn't remember whether I had really been gone for three weeks and driven cross the country. The memories of the road trip seemed to be blurry little pieces that had faded in distance, had those grey rainy days of the east coast really happened or it was all just a dream?
