beach

i went to the beach today, during lunch.

it has been a while since i started working in santa monica, 10 blocks away from the ocean, yet i haven’t even once taken the advantage and gone to the beach. such a waste! i remember my college years, when i was still living at home, i’d drive 45 miles to santa monica just to dig my toes in the sand. it’s extremely satisfying i tell you, like hugging a tree, laughing out loud, or eating two scoops of chunky monkey. i don’t know how it is, but the feeling of the cold air the salty dampness in my hair, the soothing sound of the waves repeating on the background, the broad body of blue water escaping the corners of my eyes beyond my heart’s capacity for greatness, it is just good, subtle yet powerful, therapeutic.
