storm!
yeah mammoth got hit pretty hard. the storm started before we even got up there so saturday we had a clear day with lotsa powder, ..yes it was like heaven. that night it started coming down real hard again, with wind. we prayed and prayed that it’d stop by this morning, or at least the wind will, but it didn’t. couple of friends backed down and decided not to board, but we said eh let’s go. 1st run was not bad, still snowing hard and stuff and couple gusts of wind here and there but it was okay you could still see 10 feet ahead. 2nd run was a blast considering the amount of powder and the openness of the hill. but by my 3rd run the wind blew so hard it turned all the snowflakes into small blades attacking from all directions and howling like a mad person. visibility was down to nearly zero. it was just white everywhere, no perspective of light and dark, movement or speed, time or space, whatsoever. the entire world became a giant white tornado and you are alone in the center of it, feels like traveling through time in this white tunnel. i don’t know how i got down to the bottom but i did finally, then i found out my strap broke off somehow during the last run. so it was it for me for the day, got 3 runs in, not bad for a bad weather day like this. heard that this storm will stop by wednesday, so if you’re planning on going, this coming weekend will be amazing! every time i go snowboarding i wish i could just spend the entire season there and be a bum, or at least go every other weekend, but once i get back to LA so many things distracting i just don’t seem to find the time. ah! why can’t life be perfect??!
